Ariel - fato do mercado / market costume

Olá pessoas - Hello People.

Desde pequena que gosto dos filmes de animação da Disney, nem que seja por me terem acompanhado durante tantos momentos da minha pequenês.
Esse gosto pelas personagem sempre ficou, e foi com o cosplay que consegui realizar alguns desejos, incluindo o de ser esta personagem que tanto me encantou.

Since my childhood that Disney's animation movies have been a company through out the years.
The appreciation I have for the characters has followed me through times, and with cosplay I was able to fulfill some wishes, including being this loving character.


Até agora tenho dois fatos da Ariel. O do mercado, o qual já fiz há um ano, e o típico com a cauda de peixinho.
Aqui vou falar apenas do fato do mercado.

So far I have two Ariel costumes. The one from the market, witch I have for about a years, and the typical fish tail.
Here I will just refer the one from the market.

 

Com internet julguei que seria mais fácil encontrar referencias do mesmo.

Mas como sempre, há problemas, principalmente na cor. Umas parecem mais azuis, outras mais claras, outras mais escuras. E tendo em conta o país onde vivo, tive que me arranjar como pude, encontrando tecidos com texturas que me parecessem apropriadas. Isto porque quero dar um ar credível ao fato e que não se pareça apenas com o que está na imagem.

I thought that with the internet it would be easier to get good reference pictures.

As always, there are problems, especially with color. Some are more blue, others lighter, others darker.  Having in consideration where I live, I had to go with the fabrics I could find with the best colors and textures. This because I want the costume to be believable and not just a resemblance with the picture.

Para a camisa usei como base um molde de uma Burda. Mas as mangas, a altura da camisa e o recorte da gola foram modificadas, pois atrás fiz um pequeno acrescento, como podem ver na imagem.

For the shirt I copied a Burda  pattern. But I changed the sleeves, the shirt's hight and the colar, has you can see on the picture.


Para a saia encontrei um azul com algum peso. Desenhei o molde no tecido directamente, incluindo o pequeno macho à frente a atrás.
Com o mesmo tecido, fiz também o laço da cabeça. Para ser mais fácil a sua aplicação cosi um pente de cabelo. Assim é só encaixar.

For the skirt I found a blue fabric with some weight. Drawn the pattern directly on the fabric, including the little pleat on the front and back.
With the same fabric I made the head's bow . For an easy application I sewed a little comb on the back.


Como na maior parte das imagens de referência existe um saiote, achei por bem fazer um. Para este tipo de roupa interior, gostam de lhe desenhar sempre semi-circulos seguidos. Fiquei agradada quando encontrei uma tira de renda inglesa que parecia escamas seguidas. Depois de fazer o saiote com várias layers (cada uma maior que a primeira, para dar a impressão de volume) apliquei-a na bainha.


Since on most of the reference pictures there is a sort of petticoat, I thought it to be wise to make one. They always like to draw on these sort of pieces a waved hem. I was grateful to find a beautiful English embroidery that looked like scales. After doing the layered petticoat (each layer larger then the first one, for the illusion of puffiness), I applied it on the lower end.

Para o corpete encontrei um azul escuro, com um pouco de elastano. Desenhei o molde, recortei todas as partes e deixei tecido extra para pôr barbas de lado e atrás. Apliquei também ilhoses atrás para o poder atar com atilhos.

Como tinha algumas missangas por casa achei interessante aplicar algumas na parte da frente onde tem o pequeno recorte. Apliquei também uma fita de cetim, na mesma cor, à frente, pois no desenho o corpete parece ter essa costura mais delineada.

For the corset I found a deep blue fabric that stretches a bit. Drawn the pattern, cut every part of it, and left some extras for the boning on the sides and back. I also applied metal rings for the strings.

Since I had some beads I thought it to be interesting to apply some in the front. I also applied a thin satin sash on the front, since on the references it seems to have that hem deeper.

Makeup - Cheshire Cat

Olá pessoas.

Finalmente acabei o meu video de maquilhagem baseado no Cheshire Cat da Disney.

Tenho também o vestidinho, mas tenho que o ajustar. Ou seja, mais um tempinho até o conseguir terminar.

Hello people.

Finally I finished my Disney’s Cheshire Cat based makeup video.

I also have a little dress, but there are some adjustments to make. Meaning, It will take a bit longer until it is complete.

Falando da maquilhagem:

No lado esquerdo utilizei tintas da Kryolan watercolor, próprias para pinturas corporais. Fiz algumas misturas com o rosa e o roxo, e até um pouco de preto para ajudar ao degradé.
Desenhei um Cat eye a contornar por cima da minha sobrencelha e bem abaixo do olho, terminando no sentido do nariz em bico, ao mesmo tempo que desaparece.
Finalizei com bigodes.

About the makeup:

On the left side I used watercolor paints from Kryolan for bodypainting. I mixed pink, purple and a bit of black so I could have a beautiful degrade.
I drawn a big CatEye, going from up the eyebrow and a bit underneath the eye, finishing the shape towards the nose, vanishing in a pointy end.
Ended it with whiskers.

No lado direito utilizei materiais mais relacionados com a maquilhagem que podemos aplicar no dia-a-dia.
Primeiro apliquei um concealer na zona da olheira, para tapar a linha escura e aclara-la ao mesmo tempo. De seguida utilizei o rosa e roxo da paleta da Sleek “Snapshot”. O rosa no sobrencelha e na pálpebra móvel do olho, e o roxo no concavo e no contorno do nariz.
Com uma sombra cremosa roxa (esta é da Kiko) fiz um Cat eye mais alongado e a contornar o concavo do olho, contornando também a parte inferior do olho.
Utilizei um blush bem rosa nas bochechas e por fim, com lápis de lábio e batom na mesma cor rosa pastilha elástica apliquei nos lábios.

On the right side I used more makeup daily products.
First I applied a brighter concealer. Then used the “Snapshot” Sleek pallet. Pink on the eyebrow and lid, and purple on the crease and nose contour.
With a purple cream eyeshadow (this one is from Kiko) I elongated the cat eye and made some contour above the crease. I also made a contour on the lower part of my eye.
For the cheeks a bright pink, and lastly for the lips a bright pink lip pencil and lipstick.

Xiiii! Só agora?

Olá pessoas. - Hello People



Mais uma vez deixei este sitio às aranhas. Não é que me tenha esquecido, mas a vida dá muitas voltas e há aqueles momentos em que temos que viver apenas para nós e não para os outros.
 Once again this place was forgotten. Not really forgotten, it's just life goes around many times and then you have those moments where you have to live for your selves, and not for others.

Mas mesmo assim, não quero deixar mais um projecto ao acaso, e vou aproveitar este ano para terminar alguma coisa... só para variar.
Still, I don't want to leave this project, and I'll use this year to finish something.... just for a change.

1-Terminar Fatos - Finishing Costumes

Finalizei um fato de Cheshire Cat, um pouco imaginado por mim, baseado na personagem de Walt Disney.
 I finished the Cheshire Cat costume, designed by me, and based on the Walt Disney's character.

2-Videos

Fiz um tutorial de como fazer um laço, aproveitando a personagem Kiki, do filme "Kiki Delivery Service" dos estúdios Gibli.
Estou de momento a trabalhar num video da maquilhagem para o vestido do Cheshire Cat que fiz.
I have a tutorial on how to make a bow. I used Kiki from "Kiki Delivery Service" from Gibli Studios as a start.
Now I am working on a makeup video for my Cheshire Cat dress.

3-Trabalhos Manuais - Arts & Crafts

Apenas estou a trabalhar com a técnica de Amigurumi de momento.
Estou a testar moldes para algumas personagens da Clamp e a técnica felting aplicada a eles.
I am now only working with the amigurumi technic.
I'm testingsome ppatterns for some Clamp characters e trying to apply on them the felting technic
.

Como sabem, quem faz os próprios fatos de cosplay, tem habilidade na costura, o que posso dizer ser o meu caso.
Tenho-me afastado um pouco do cosplay, mas não da costura, e tenho procurado ser a minha própria modista. - E é disso que vos quero falar hoje.

Has you well know, those who make their own cosplay costumes, have an ability for sewing, wich I can say, it is my case.
I've been away from cosplay for a while, but not from sewing, and from being my own clothing designer. - And it is about that, I want to talk to you about.

Como ao longo dos anos fui acumulando tecidos de boa qualidade e que ainda hoje gosto, resolvi utiliza-los para fazer roupa que possa utilizar no dia-a-dia, e que eu saiba que me vai durar por muito tempo. Um desses projectos foi uma saia em pele.
Não, não comprei pele, mas tinha um bonito pedaço de imitação de pele, muito boa, que resolvi recortar de acordo com um molde da burda e construir uma saia.

Over the years I've been gathering good quality fabrics, wich I still like, and I've decided to use them to make clothes for my daily bases, and that I am certain will endure time. One of those projects was a leather skirt.
No, I didn't bought leather, but a very good imitation of it, wich I cut out using a Burda pattern and sewed together as a skirt.

 Este tecido esteve pendurado durante muito tempo, e onde as molas do cabide estiveram, ficou marca. Aprendi uma coisa nova :P
This fabric was in the hanger for very long, and that is why it as it's marks. Something new that I've learned. :P

 Outra coisa que aprendi com este tecido, é que não posso prender o trabalho para coser, com agulhas. Tive que utilizar molas para prender as pregas que fazem parte do molde. Tive também que que coser um tecido de algodão no interior do cos, para que o tecido não cole à minha barriga (xixa). 
One other thing I've learned with the fabric is that I can not pin it, since it will be ruined. I had to use pegs. I also had to sew a cotton fabric on the inside of the belt area, so the "leather" wouldn't stick to my tummy (fresh meat).

 O grave problema veio com o fecho-eclaire. Pois o pé do calcador estava em contacto com a pele e não escorregava. Tive, por isso que utilizar um papel fininho para conseguir coser (como mostra a imagem).
 The big problem, was when I wanted to sew the zipper. The machine foot wasn't flowing as it should. So I had to use a very thin paper to get it done (as it shows in the picture).

 E aqui está a saia finalizada. Ainda precisa de ser pressionada com o ferro, mas já a experimentei e acenta bem.  

And here is the final skirt. It still needs pressing, but I've already tried it on and it has a good fit.

O que mais gosto nela, é que tem bolsos. Cada vez mais me apercebo que bolsos são uma necessidade hoje em dia. Pelo menos no meu quatidiano.
What I most like on it, it's the pockets. They are a necessity to my daily routine.

Para/For 2014

Olá gente - Hello people

Espero que tenham entrado neste novo ano com muita alegria e confiança de que conseguiremos alcançar novas metas.
Quero por isso partilhar alguns objectivos que pretendo alcançar neste novo ano.

I hope you got into this new year full of joy and trust on your new achievements.

And so, I would like to share my achievements for this new year.

1-Terminar Fatos - Finishing Costumes

O ano passado apenas terminei o meu fato de Ariel. Quando digo apenas quero dizer que nos outros 2 que tenho fofamente pendurados, nem sequer toquei.
Tendo em conta que são apenas dois, acho que um ano é mais que suficiente para os terminar. É claro que tenho que ajudar uma amiga a terminar o dela (sempre a supervisionar) e terminar um para para um dos meus fatos (=P).

Last year I finished my Ariel Costumes. As I say this, I mean that the other two are sweetly hanged and that I didn't even laid a finger on them.
Considering there are only two, I believe that a year is more than enough to finish them.. And I also have a friend's costume to help her with (always supervising) and finish one of my costume's mate. (=P)

2-Videos

Como têm visto, no ano que passou fiz alguns videos. Apesar de ter poucos visionamentos não desisto. Para este ano quero continuar a fazer o mesmo, mas de uma forma mais assidua. Talvez fazer por mês dois videos (xiiiii tanto... pois, pois, eu sei).

As you've seen, last year I've done a significant amount of videos. And although they don't have many views, I will not give up.
For this year, I want to do the same, but more. Maybe two per month (oh my, that many...).

3-Trabalhos Manuais - Arts & Crafts

Tenho muitas ideias e pouca paciência para as pôr em pratica. E quando isso acontece tenho a ligeira tendência de os deixar a meio.

Como é caso da minha "Mario Blankey". Esta pobre está no topo da prateleira, religiosamente dobrada e tapada para não apanhar pó. Os quadrados que fiz no ano passado estão ou cosidos ou quardados numa caixinha. Mas quero dizer, que este ano irei termina-la. Tem que ser.

I have many ideas and little pacience to do them. And when I do so, I have the slight  tendency to leave them half done.
Like my "Mario Blankey". This poor bastard is folded over a shelf and covered so it wont get dusty. Last years granny squares I've done are either sewn on or in a box. And what I mean is that I will finish it this year... I have to. 

Posso no entanto acrescentar, que desde que cencontrei vários tutoriais sobre a técnica Amigurumi que tenho feito muitos pequenos projectos, Chego até a fazer os meus próprios moldes, como é exemplo do meu Quebra-Nozes.
Fiquei também contente por ver que  quando me fixei em realizar os videos do Quebra-Nozes que me consegui concentrar o suficiente para terminar todos os "props" . A tiara da Fada, o boneco, cabelo e chapéu do Quebra-Nozes.

However, I can say that since I found Amigurumi tutorials that I've done some small projects. I can now do my own patterns, like the Nutcracker soldier one.
I was also pleased to know that when I found the motivation to make the Nutcracker videos, I found the will to finish the props. The fairy tiara, the doll and the soldier hat.

O Quebra-Nozes - The Nutcracker

Mais uma vez exploro uma das minhas paixões: a maquilhagem.

Desta vez abordei uma temática, para muitas famílias, natalícia: “O Quebra-Nozes”.

Once again I explore one of my passions: makeup.

This time I made something out of a many familys known Christmas theme: "The Nutcracker".

A História do Quera-Nozes - Nutcracker's Story

Bem sei que na história há várias personagens importantes, mas eu decidi abordar apenas três. Estas servem para eu explorar algumas técnicas de maquilhagem. Uma a preparação da pele, outra um look mais ousado/de noite e uma transformação, respectivamente identificados abaixo.

I do know that in this story we have many important characters, but I decided to aproche only three of them. They are for me to explore some fields in makeup. One the skin preparation, another a night look and a transformation, all identified below:

CLARA - FADA DO AÇUCAR / SUGAR PLUM FAIRY - NUTCRACKER / QUEBRA-NOZES

Para esta transformação utilizei na grande maioria tintas à base de água para pinturas faciais.

Para tornar as bochechas um pouco mais brilhante apliquei blush em pó com um aspecto perlado, por cima da tinta rosada.

Para fazer os contornos dos olhos, marcar a parte da boca que deveria mexer para partir as nozes e marcar as sobrancelhas utilizei uma sombra matte castanha escura. 

For this makeover I used water based face paintings.

So that the cheeks have a shinier look I applid a powder satined blush, over the pink paint.

For the eyes contour, the mobile part of the mouth and eyebrows I used a dark mat eyeshadow.

 

 Para que esta transformação ficasse ainda mais completa fiz o chapéu com restos de tecido que tinha e ainda a barba e o cabelo com lã cinzenta presa numa grelha feita em crochet.
For a more complete look I made the hat with pieces of fabric I had and even the beard and hair with some grey wool stuck in a grid done in crochet.

Para poder completar todo o meu trabalho e para poder fazer uma mini história minimamente parecida com a original fiz um boneco do Quebra-Nozes em crochet, na técnica de Amigurumi.
To complete even more this work, and so I could make a little story I've done the Nutcracker doll using the Amigurumi crochet tecnic.

"O Quebra-Nozes" _ A Fada do Açucar - "The Nutcracker" _ Sugar Plum Fairy

Mais uma vez exploro uma das minhas paixões: a maquilhagem.

Desta vez abordei uma temática, para muitas famílias, natalícia: “O Quebra-Nozes”.

A História do Quera-Nozes - Nutcracker's Story

Bem sei que na história há várias personagens importantes, mas eu decidi abordar apenas três. Estas servem para eu explorar algumas técnicas de maquilhagem. Uma a preparação da pele, outra um look mais ousado/de noite e uma transformação, respectivamente identificados abaixo.

CLARA - FADA DO AÇUCAR / SUGAR PLUM FAIRY - NUTCRACKER / QUEBRA-NOZES

 

Aqui mostro a minha interpretação da Fada do Açucar (correctamente traduzido seria a Fada das Ameixas Açucaradas) onde recorro sempre aos tons ameixa (claro) rosa e prateado.

Here I'll show you my interpretation of the Sugar Plum Fairy, where I use plum (of course), pink and silver tones.

Sendo ela uma bailarina tentei dar ao máximo  um ar de ballet. Para isso fiz um "carrapito" que adornei com uma tiara que fiz e acrescentei uns brincos para dar mais brilho. Tenho, claro, consciência que uma bailarina não usaria uns brincos destes em cena, pois balançam de mais e seriam desconfortáveis para dançar.

Since she is a ballerina I tried to make it look as ballet as I could. For that I put my hair on a simple updo and adorned it with a tiara that I've done myself and used earrings to give it some extra sparkle. I do know however that a ballet dancer would not wear these since they swing a lot and would not be comfortable while dancing.

Vou então descrever o que utilizei - This was what I used:

(apliquei esta maquilhagem por cima da da Clara - This was applied on top of Clara's makeup)

PELE - SKIN:

-mesma base da Clara - same foundation as Clara's;

-corrector de olheiras num tom mais claro o qual apliquei em degradé começando no canto do olho até misturar com o que já lá estava - concealer in a lighter shade applied in degrade from the corner until it is blended with the previous;

-pó solto claro - loose powder;

-blush ameixa com um sub-tom acastanhado com o qual marquei bem a zona por baixo da bochecha e espalhei em efeito degradé - plum blush with a slight brown undertone for under the cheeks, starting strongly and ending in a degrade to nothing;

-blush rosa salmão nas maçãs do rosto e na zona das temporas - pink salmon blush for the cheeks and temples.

OLHOS - EYES:

-primário de olhos/sombra (este já estava aplicado) - eye primer (already applied);

-lápis Kohl em tom ameixa na linha das pestanas fazendo asa e contornei o concavo do olho - Kohl pencil in plum on the lashes line winging it and on the crease;

-sombra em tom ameixa ( subtom  castanho escuro) por cima do lápis e puxando para dentro com um pincel fofinho e redondo - plum eyeshadow (dark brown undertone) over the pencil and pulling the colour over the lid with a fluffy round brush;

-sombra rosa salmão (clara) em cima da pálpebra móvel - (light) pink salmon eyeshadow over the lid;

-sombra rosa salmão (escura) à contorno do nariz começando junto às sobrancelhas e descendo com o que resta no pincel - (dark) pink salmon eyeshadow from the brow line down to the sides of the nose;

-sombra rosa com brilho por cima de toda a pálpebra - pink eyeshadow with a bit of sparkle over the lid;

-sombra beige rosada com brilho no arco da sobrancelha e apliquei também na cana do nariz e no topo das bochechas - pinkish beige eyeshadow with a bit of sparkle under the brows and on top of the line of the nose, as well as on the top of the cheeks;

-sombra cremosa prateada à canto interno do olho - cream silver eyeshadow on the inner corner of the eye;

-pedrinhas imitação diamante transparente e rosa, a transparente no canto interno e externo do olho; rosa a seguir à primeira no canto externo do olho - rhinestones in sheer and light pink on corners of the eye, on the inner corner the sheer, and on the outer corner first the sheer and then the pink.

SOBRANCELHAS - EYEBROWS:

-Lápis Kohl em tom ameixa (o mesmo utilizado no olho) - Kohl pencil in plum (the same used on the eye).

LÁBIOS - LIPS:

-batton hidratante rosa clarinho - moisturizing lipstick in light pink;

-gloss em tom ameixa claro - plum gloss.
